Description and interpretation of astronomical phenomena using the laws of modern physics. Modern astronomical instrumentation. Gravitation, relativity, electromagnetic radiation, atomic and nuclear processes in relation to the structure and evolution of stars, the solar system, galaxies, and the Universe.
