Lecture-3 hours; discussion-1 hour. Prerequisite:course 1 or 2 or Environmental Science and Policy 30 or Evolution and Ecology 100 or Biological Sciences 101. Interdisciplinary study of diversity and change in human societies, using frameworks from anthropology, evolutionary ecology, history, archaeology, psychology, and other fields. Topics include population dynamics, subsistence transitions, family organization, disease, economics, warfare, politics, and resource conservation.
