One hundred sixty clock hours of unpaid supervised student pharmacy technician practice under the supervision of a preceptor pharmacist. The extern will interact with the health care team members and patients and participate in professional rounds. Applications include unit-dose packaging, dispensing sterile products, large batch compounding and using institutional computer systems. A current health form, criminal background check and drug screen may be required. ( Prerequisites: PHM 103, PHM 112)
