In this course, the database administrator will come to understand how a database is used in order to effectively manage and maintain business resources, how database components interact with one another, and how issues of access affect the security and integrity of the database. Through hands-on practice, students will develop the skills needed to maintain, manage, and secure an effective and efficient database including performance monitoring, database security, user management and back-up/disaster recovery techniques. ( Prerequisite: CIS 500)
