This course examines the various federal, state and local laws, regulations and executive orders as they affect the human resource function including equal employment opportunity, affirmative action, wage/overtime payment, employment agreements, union-management labor relations, employee rights and other restrictions on management actions. Emphasis will be placed on maintaining compliance with these laws and developing proactive practices to avoid costly litigation. ( Prerequisite: MGT 530)
