This course introduces student to digital photography as an art form and a communication tool. Students are introduced to the technical and practical aspects of using a digital camera and the basic manipulation of digital images in PowerPoint and Photoshop Elements. Emphasis is placed on learning to take better photographs, utilizing photography as a vehicle to explore personal creativity and on developing verbal and visual skills necessary to appreciate and critique the medium both as a means of communication and as an art form. This course is intended for non-majors.
