This course will emphasize critical thinking based on the cognitive knowledge base required for competence in the medical assisting profession. Students will incorporate medical business practices cognitive knowledge in performance of psychomotor skills and affective behaviors. Cognitive knowledge base topics include: Administrative Functions, Basic Practice Finances, Managed Care/Insurance and Procedural & Diagnostic Coding. Students perform 21 psychomotor skills and seven affective behaviors.
