This course surveys personal computer operating systems (Windows, XP, 2000, Vista, Linux) and provides an introduction to networking technology. This course prepares students for part two of the CompTIA A+ certification exam, and Honors students are required to take the exam. The course specifically focuses on advanced troubleshooting of PC systems. Topics include file system design and management, installation and upgrade of operating systems, input/output devices, and networking devices and topologies. ( Prerequisite: CIS 242)
