This course provides a comprehensive introduction to computer and network security. The course covers basic security principles including a detailed discussion of security attack techniques and security defense technologies. Honor students will be prepared for the Comp TIA Security+ certification. Hands-on exercises will apply defensive tactics to harden a company's servers and workstations (Windows 2003 Server and Windows XP). Students learn cryptography and employ PK1 to thwart attacks.
