This is a Graphic Design Capstone Class in which students integrate illustration, imaging, and layout to produce a cohesive multi-page document. This class focuses on the process of publication design from conception through design and production. Topics include typography, layout, application of design theory, production (paper selection, ink selection, file preparation, and writing job specifications), and an introduction to copyright issues and legal and ethical aspects of the design profession. Software for illustration, imaging, and layout techniques are used with a focus on the production of multi-page documents. Students are required to present a portfolio of 2-5 exemplary works. ( Prerequisite: ART 261)
