This class develops representational and interpretative drawing skills while introducing students to creative problem-solving processes. Students focus on form and image-making and accurately rendering objects on a two-dimensional surface. Students explore the use of illustration as a medium to convey ideas or narrative through the ideation process of brainstorming and developing thumbnail sketches, roughs, and revisions. Students are introduced to color media and research and write about the works of contemporary artists using drawing and illustration in both fine art and commercial contexts. For this class, students are required to present a portfolio of 3-5 exemplary works. ( Prerequisites: ART 102, ART 104)
