This course introduces approaches and techniques of digital imaging applied to the art of photography with a focus on the use of a digital camera and Adobe Photoshop. Students are introduced to the technical and practical aspects of using a digital camera and the basic manipulation of digital images in Photoshop. Emphasis is placed on the creative process while exploring the aesthetics of photography and electronic image making as a means of communication used by contemporary artists and graphic designers. For this class, students are required to present a portfolio of 2-5 exemplary works.
