Today the service industry dominates much of the world economy. In North America, the fastest growing segment of the economy is the creation and performance of services. More and more organizations must be adept at also performing services rather than simply producing goods. This course will introduce students interested in working in the services industry to the unique concepts of service marketing. Specifically, this course will focus on differentiating service organizations from goods organizations. This course will use case studies to examine the key issues and challenges facing organizations in a variety of service sectors (e.g. retail, healthcare and professional services).
