This course provides a comprehensive introduction to computer and network security. The course covers basic security principles including a detailed discussion of security attack techniques and security defense technologies. Hands-on exercises are designed to apply defensive tactics to harden a company's servers and workstations (Windows 2003 Server and Windows XP). Students learn cryptography and employ PKI (public key cryptography) to thwart attacks. The course topics are mapped to the Security+ certification.
