Art 170 is a production-based foundations class that introduces digital page composition; the integration of type and image. Students are introduced to QuarkXPress software and utilizing grids for the basics of page composition for single- and multi-page documents, elementary typography, press types and operations, paper properties, spot color and four-process color, inks, preflight and output operations, and binding/finishing methods.
