This is a foundation class in which students employ both traditional and digital media to develop an understanding of the use of visual elements in design and reproduction processes. Students apply the principles of design (unity, variety, etc.) to solving varied design problems. Students explore a variety of media as they investigate the design process and create two-dimensional projects with an emphasis on professional presentation formats. Students are introduced to basic navigation skills utilizing the Macintosh platform. Students are required to present a portfolio of 2-5 exemplary works.
