This is a foundation class that focuses on teaching students to draw realistically. Students learn how to use a variety of materials and techniques to effectively create and drawn images and compositions based on what is seen. Emphasis is placed on understanding the creative process, training the eye, and accessing the right side of the brain. Students examine drawings by a variety of artists to better understand composition and use of media. Students are required to present a portfolio of 3-5 exemplary works.
