The course examines the consequences of U.S.-Latin American relations for democracy, human rights, and economic prosperity In the Western Hemisphere during the Cold War and post-Cold War periods. Relevant themes Include democracy promotion, Immigration, and trade. The course combines case studies of specific countries, policy analysis, and historical and theoretical perspectives on Inter-American relations. Prerequisites: International Studies 200.
