A study of contemporary Eastern and Central Europe, including domestic politics, foreign and economic policy, regional cooperation, and discord. Special attention will be paid to the changes taking place in the region in the aftermath of the 1989 anti-communist revolutions, including prospects for democracy and market reform in the region. Prerequisites: International Studies 200 or permission of instructor.
