This course provides an overview of the major issues in international political economy: interdependence, the making of foreign economic policy, evolution of the international financial system, the role of multinational corporations, and issues in the North-South dialogue. Emphasis is on the variety of ways in which political and economic forces interact to affect flows of goods, services, investments, money and technology. Major theoretical perspectives will be reviewed. Prerequisites: International Studies 100 or permission of instructor.
