Emphasis will be on the interaction of cultures and the evolution of political and social systems. Students will explore primary documents and autobiography, culminating in a research paper. (Course offered every third year; scheduled for 2009-2010.) Prerequisites: Any History course at the 200-level or permission of the instructor.
