(First-year seminar) This course introduces students to the studio experience as a creative act and shows them how they might experience a work of art. Through critiques, class discussion, visits to museums or galleries, and their own practical experience in the studio, students will examine many of the core issues in art, such as: How do we talk about visual physical objects What role do materials play in the life of an object of art What do we mean when we use the word "Art" Meets Humanities I-A requirement N.
