Introduction to both the technical and conceptual aspects of drawing as a primary tool for visual expression and analysis. Art historical contexts as well as the dialogue between the arts and other disciplines will be considered. Emphasis is placed on learning to see, and to think visually. Required for the studio art major and minor. Meets Humanities I-A requirement The department, K. Stack, N. Margalit, C. Spurrier 2 studios (2-1/2 hours) and 6 hours unarranged; NOTE: Students preregistering for this course must attend the first class meeting of the semester or their names will be dropped from the class roster.; 4 credits
