(Prerequisite: PSY 101) This course is an overview of the field of social psychology and covers many sub-areas of research related to social behavior - how a person's thoughts, feelings, and actions are affected by others. Topics to be covered include the following: theories and methods of social psychology; person perception, social cognition and attribution; social aspects of nonverbal and verbal communication; forming, maintaining and changing attitudes; prejudice and discrimination; interpersonal attraction; pro-social behavior; aggression; social influence; and group processes and group behavior.
