(Prerequisite: ENG 101) The course will require students to read, write journal entries on, and discuss works by some of the best-known writers of mystery fiction. The course will use the mystery - a genre of popular culture - to examine cultural attitudes and changes in these attitudes and various social issues and minority issues. Thus, the course will be useful in terms of stressing cultural diversity.
