(Prerequisite: CIM 305) The student will be provided an overview of Data Communications and Networks used in the business information technology industry. Networks used by government, industry, and the Internet will be covered. This dynamic class will reflect the quickly changing use of industry networks. An overview of local area networks, their topologies and protocols will be taught. When appropriate there will be field trips to data communications facilities and possibly some hands on activity. This course prepares the student for the business systems analysis course.
