Prerequisite: 10th quarter or above An integrative, diagnosis and technique course (lecture and lab) that covers the epidemiology, biomechanics, diagnosis, treatment and management of lower back and lower extremity pain. Emphasis will be placed on assessment and treatment utilizing Cox flexion distraction technique. This course will enable the student to further develop a working knowledge of lumbar spine clinical anatomy, biomechanics and neurophysiology as well as understanding assessment concepts as they relate to diagnosis and management of the patient with low back pain and /or leg pain. Give the student an overview of the common important conditions affecting the lower back with associated diagnostic, treatment and management considerations. Familiarize students with Cox Flexion Distraction Technique protocols utilized in the treatment of patients with low back and/or leg pain. Give the student and awareness of the epidemiology of low back pain, the essential role of Chiropractic, and the efficacy of Cox Flexion Distraction Technique.
