Prerequisites: Admission to BSN program; ENGL 1102, MATH 1107, BIOL 2222, BIOL 2261, SCI CORE, SOCI 2105, PSYC 3305. Corequisite: BIOL 3317. The first nursing course is designed to introduce the student to the philosophical and theoretical basis for professional nursing in primary and sec-ondary care settings. The student is encouraged to be self-assessing, self caring, and self-directive. Emphasis is on the six processes of nursing, self care requisites, and holistic health. Learning experiences are provided in the Nursing Learn-ing Resource Center, KSU's Wellness Center and selected primary and secondary care settings.
