Principles of fluid dynamics and their application to the atmosphere. Basic conservation laws and equations of motion. Circulation and vorticity. Dynamics of synoptic systems: quasigeostrophic analysis, oscillations and waves, baroclinic instability, and cyclogensis. General circulation. Numerical modeling. Credit not given for both G431 and G436.
