Corresponds to a one-semester course in psychology of adulthood and aging. Measures understanding of the psychological, biological, and social aspects of aging throughout adulthood. Includes both classical and contemporary research and theory related to adult development and aging. Covers the following content categories: concepts of age and demographics; research methods; personality and adjustment; biology, physiology, health, and chronic conditions; cognitive aspects; work, leisure, retirement, and relationships; death, dying, and bereavement; and mental health and psychopathology. Assumes a familiarity with the content generally presented in an introductory psychology course.
