3 credits This course examines the impact of AIDS from the individual, community and global perspective. Through interactive media learning communities, students will learn about the biology of the disease process and treatments and examine the effects of social and political influences on the AIDS community. The student will develop an understanding of the continuing challenges in the field of HIV/AIDS. Students will also have the opportunity to view the personal perspectives of AIDS patients, as well as have the opportunity to reflect on their own perspectives of AIDS and the many misconceptions of the disease. Note: This course is cross listed; therefore all other students register under SOC 380.
