3 credits This course focuses on leadership as a critical component of effective health care organizations (HCOs). Management relates to leadership and how the HCO actually functions, both strategically and on a daily basis. Students explore the health care setting and its structure and function. Other critical management tasks are included in the content: recruitment and retention, performance appraisal, decision-making, teamwork, and related ethical and legal issues.
