Advanced study of biological molecules emphasizing fundamental metabolic pathways. Carbohydrate metabolism and cellular energy generation are studied focusing on the thermodynamic, kinetic and regulatory aspects of these pathways. Also included are biomolecular oxidation-reduction processes, biological energy storage, and biosyn- thesis of amino acids, lipids, nucleic acids, and hormones. Applications to medical diagnosis and treatment are included. Prerequisite: Chemistry 331 3 hours lecture, 1 semester, 3 credits. Spring 2008, 2010
