Prerequisite: permission of applied instrument instructor and senior standing. Designed to emphasize research and writing skills culminating in a major research document to demonstrate knowledge in the student's performance area. The document(s) should reflect study and experience in the undergraduate curriculum of their degree program, including, but not confined to, music theory, musicology, conducting and ensembles. Normally, this document is extensive program notes related to the repertoire of their senior recital. Students should enroll in the capstone writing seminar the semester before the senior capstone recital. (F, Sp) [V]
