Prerequisite: Graduate standing in mathematics of permission of the instructor. This course considers current issues and perennial problems in undergraduate mathematics teaching. Potential topics include, but are not limited to, use of technology in mathematics instruction, use of group work and other instructional strategies actively engaging students in Mathematics learning, the nature of mathematics learning, research-based practices in teaching undergraduate mathematics, issues of gender and diversity in undergraduate mathematics, the nature of the undergraduate mathematics curriculum.
