Prerequisite: Graduate standing in mathematics or permission of the instructor. This course is intended for students who will be consumers of mathematics education research as well as those who will be producers of this research. The course offers an overview of the mathematics pedagogy research process and a detailed survey of selected aspects of this process. Particular topics including reviewing existing mathematics teaching research literature, designing research studies, gathering research data, analyzing research data, and reporting pedagogical research.
