Prerequisite: 1313, 2313, or equivalent. A discussion of slavery as it has occurred and is occurring in various civilizations, from the ancient world to modern times. The goal of the course is to increase familiarity with the brual history of bondage and to build skills in analyzing past events, espectially through writing, and to gain an understanding of the basic methods employed in historical research.
