Prerequisite: junior standing or permission of International Exchange Programs office. Survey of the history and current political realities of south eastern Europe. Comprises Austrian history within a Balkan context, history of Yugoslavia, and study of the integration of south east European states in European institutions following the demise of communism. Experiential learning through field trips (Vienna, Zagreb, Ljubljana). Intensive German language course and fine arts component (concerts, opera, architectural monuments). (Su)
