Prerequisite: 1113 and junior standing. Explores the motivations for, the means by which, and the consequences of growing global interconnectivity and exchange. Investigates the changing nature of boundaries including ideas, tourists, armies, corporations, students, workers, capital, missionaries, diseases, criminal cartels, pollution, rare animals, entertainment, and cultural products. Explores the functional meanings and realities of sovereignty, federation, confederation, colonialism, imperialism, and international cooperation. Concepts such as connectivity, piracy, and international cooperation will be explored. (Irreg.)
