Prerequisite: Chemistry 1415 and Math 1823 or equivalent or permission of instructor. The course will begin by reviewing the history of supply and use of energy through the 19th and 20th century and the transition from coal to wood to oil, gas and nuclear. It will cover the existing and potential energy supplies for the future and discuss their positive and negative impacts, including environmental impacts. This will include the potential for a new generation of nuclear power, wind, solar, and biomass. (Irreg.)
