Prerequisite: junior standing. European medieval art of 11th and 12th centuries. Romanesque, the first pan-European art style, is formulated during a period of urban growth and the beginning of the university system. One of the most significant achievements during the Romanesque is the sculpted iconographical portal. No student may earn credit for both 4243 and 5243. (Irreg.) [IV-WC]
