Description:
Prerequisite: 2253, 3253, and 3263. May be repeated once; maximum credit six hours. Loading of kilns along with techniques and schedules for firing gas, electric, salt and raku kilns. Students learn to mix and maintain stoneware, salt, and raku glazes. Additional ceramic techniques may include; technical information for mixing and pouring plaster for molds; ceramic studio design; ceramic glaze calculation; and photographing slides of ceramic work. A binder, handouts, and notes from this course will provide students with a manual for ceramic studio operation. (Irreg.)
