Prerequisite: graduate standing. Focus on the concepts of mobility and sedentism in the archaeological record. The concepts are defined and discussed in their many forms, and the relationships between the mobility/sedentism continuum and other factors such as the use of agriculture, population size, the natural environment, social organization, skeletal impacts, ritual, and kinds of artifacts are considered. Appropriate ethnographic literature is used extensively. (Irreg.)
