2 This course is designed to survey pathogenic viruses emphasizing diagnosis of disease. Evaluation of new technology and diagnostic tests with reference to diagnosis and prognosis of disease are examined. In addition, this course is designed to instruct students in the principles and techniques used in the clinical immunology/serology setting. Students will become proficient in laboratory techniques such as immunodiffusion, ELISA, hemagglutination, and neutralization techniques used for immunodiagnosis..
