2 This is an introductory course in manufacturing processes covering the basic machine tool practices utilized in the manufacturing of a product. The objective of the course is to develop a broad understanding of manufacturing operations and their relationship to engineering product design. Students manufacture, fabricate and measure the accuracy of a mechanical assembly from design drawings, using lathes, milling machines, drill presses and other conventional processes.
