3 Development of basic fluid mechanical relations: fluid behavior and properties; hydrostatic pressure and force, buoyancy and stability; continuity, momentum and Bernoulli equations; similitude, dimensional analysis and modeling. Emphasis is placed on the control volume approach for solving problems. Students engage in a design project in this course.
