3 UML -TEAMS Academy students will design a composite baseball bat from inception through construction and testing. Students will explore topics in mechanical engineering, physics, materials science, and statistics as they use the engineering design process and scientific method to explore and test various factors that will affect the bat's performance. Students will fabricate bats using composite materials and will compare their bat's performance to their peers and to the design goal. This course is open only to High School students accepted to the UML-TEAMS Academy. Instructor Permission required.
