The course is an introduction to the field, methods, and controversies found in cross-cultural psychology. It begins with an emphasis upon a conceptual understanding of culture as context for developing psychological practices. An overview of professional activities and resources in the field will be completed. The second part of the semester will focus upon core topics (e.g. self, normal development, etc.) and the third part will emphasize student projects. Prerequisites: two previous psychology courses with at least one at the 300 level or permission of instructor. CR. 3
