NUR201W prepares the student to apply the nursing process in delivering care to the childbearing family and children. A developmental approach is used in meeting the needs of the child and family. Attention is given to the nurse's role in health promotion and disease prevention. Concepts of community-based health care are introduced. Students will have the opportunity to provide nursing care to children and childbearing families. A portion of the clinical will provide students an opportunity to enhance their medical surgical knowledge while caring for adult clients. Prerequisites: MAT100, NUR102, BIO210. NOTE: PSY308, BIO321, SOC101 must be completed prior to or taken concurrently with NUR201W. Lec 5, Lab 12. CR. 9
