This course introduces the student to the nursing care of patients experiencing common recurring illnesses with expected outcomes. The focus of this course is the impact of the stressors of illness on basic human needs. The use of the nursing process is developed as the approach for assessing and diagnosing patients physiological and psychosocial needs and planning appropriate nursing interventions. The course includes the use of the college laboratory and clinical experiences in the hospital setting. Prerequisite: NUR101, BIO110, PSY100, ENG101. Note: MAT100 and BIO210 must be completed prior to or taken concurrently with NUR102. Lec 4, Lab 12. CR. 9
